Miles Gilliom, Ph.D.

DR. MILES GILLIOM, a psychologist at 3-C Family Services, grew up in a blended family of nine.  This experience instilled an appreciation of the difficulties and opportunities families face as they undergo major changes.  He has devoted his career to helping children and families reach positive outcomes under challenging circumstances.

Dr. Gilliom has worked with and learned about children and their parents in a variety of settings, including the psychology programs at Brown University and the University of Pittsburgh, the psychiatry program at Duke University, and 3-C.  Along the way, he has developed expertise in assessment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, marital therapy, and child development.  He has published articles and chapters on children and families and presented his work at international conferences. His clients often remark on the blend of skill and compassion he brings to his work

As a therapist, Dr. Gilliom has witnessed first-hand the effects of high-conflict divorce on children and adults.  Collaborative divorce represents a powerful, healthy alternative to litigation, and he is pleased to serve as Child Specialist and Co-Parenting Advisor in the collaborative process.

When he is not at work, Dr. Gilliom enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and large extended family.  He also loves music, running, hiking, and camping.
